Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat?) has a brother:

Professor Simon Baron Cohen at Cambridge University

He has a theory that Aspergers is an example of 'extreme male brain'.

My take on it is that schools have become extremely feminine environments in which vast numbers of boys who would be perfectly happy making things are now treated as though they have a 'disorder' because they are not 'touchy feely'......

Oh and if I have something to say I say it, I don't believe in hiding behind hints!!! :y
Neither do I love, so feel free to make your EXACT point at any time you like....because so far all you have managed to do is the exact opposite.

I have creep! I asked you to expand on your hint! ;)
You're quite a chopsy little doris on the keyboard aren't you?

Tell me something.......just what sort of response are you expecting after throwing insults that are completely uncalled for?

Whatever takes your fancy, seems you can give out crap but aren't to keen when it comes back at you! My guess is especially as its from a woman!!! Discuss at will!

Incidently using ''love'' in an insult is just a creeps trick!! ;)

Oh and I'm not limited to a keyboard either!! ;)

It's our anniversary today and our ten year old son told us we had to go for 'a romantical meal'. As far as I can gather, he got this from Horrid Henry.
We said it might be difficult to get a babysitter, but he said that would be no problem as he was coming with us :o
Earlier he asked what time we were leaving. 'About half six' I said. 'Oh no. i can't wait till half past six for my tea. Five o'clock I want it'.
'OK, five o'clock.'
We left the house at four fifty, got to the pub at five. Ordered the meal, scoffed it and were back in the house for ten to six.

Some rather 'romantical meal'. ;D ;D
Autism, Aspergers, it's pretty much the same deal.

Those afflicted are very much "literal"....so once you tell them that X happens at Y time....it has to happen or it really does cause them anguish.

Not explaining that to you of course, just one particular individual that thinks they know it all and gets chopsy if they don't like what they hear.
Sooo
Have you got personal /second hand experience of autism spectrum disorders?
(my wife works with autistic kids BTW)

No one knows more than Killerwatt about spectrum disorders it would seem Andy!!! ;)
The only spectrum disorders that I knew about were in the eighties with my sinclair spectrum

I think when we are talking about the Autism - Aspergers spectrum a little more thought should be made before commenting on what is / can be a disabling disorder to very varying degrees.

We have been helping out with this organisation http://www.lifeworks-uk.org/ down here in Devon. I don't know if there are similar groups across the country :-/

I think humour can help a lot but one persons joke can be taken by another person as hurtful and insulting :(
Keep smiling everyone & try to see the funny side :y

Must be hard work at times but your lad sounds like a stormer!

Good on you and the missus for being shining parents :)

Some people on here seem to have a condition for every season sadly!

Feel free to show me one example of "crap" I have dished out when not otherwise provoked.

If you paid for a psychology course, now's the time to ask for a refund.

Since when has the term "love" been deemed an insult? (an insult in the real world that is).

I was bored days ago darling, but I had this thing in my head telling me that ignoring your questions would have been seen as rude (quite ironic really when this thread is read from the beginning).

some people getting a bit tetchy tonight?  ;D
Seriously though, my little lad has aspergers and (as Im sure many of you on here will appreciate if you're in a similar boat) its not always a great deal of fun, especially when your trying to get the help they need at school etc.fighting for funding. Did a lot of research myself into it and Im much happier now that I understand his "condition" a bit more and try and appreciate how he views things as opposed to how the majority would view them. We liase with the school quite a bit and his new teacher and classroom asst. have done wonders for him this term.
