Half Hearted UK
« on: 21 March 2007, 11:43:52 »

Its RAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT TIME.

Im off to Loondon for a few days tomorrow - so took today as annual leave day to get a few things sorted out.

Wifes car needed a new tyre - £102 from Kwick Fit ( unpronouncable make) or £39 off tyre wholesaler on `'internet.

Guess what i decided  ::)

Anyway too tyre to local place that always does this - s" sorry we cant now fit them unless you buy a tyre here - its in case we mark your alloy" !!!!  >:( and exactly how are you going to mark an alloy fitting my tyre provided but NOT mark my alloy with your tyre!!!

Anyway left in a tantrum - clearly toys are out the pram for the big garages if you dont bend over and let them shaft you rotten by taking their pricecs!!! Maybe if thtey want the business that much they should HALF their prices!!

Went to a wee back street place - at 10am - they were still shut.....

Went to amother place....still shut.....

Gave up and went to my local barbers to get holiday haircut......10.15 am ....still shut!!!!!

WAKE UP EVERYONE AND LETS ALSO GET SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE  >:(

I've had this problem in the past too mate. Some tyre fitters can be right c*nts about fitting tyres that you haven't bought from them.

I still order my tyres online, but I choose the fully fitted option instead, and they pay a local tyre place of my choice to fit them and book it in for me.

I found a tyre fitters several years ago.....little backstreet place....usually busy, which is a good sign....will shove any tyres i turn up with onto my wheels for £7 a corner.
And will fix punctures for a fiver as well  :y

Only downside is....not open weekends and always cleared off by 5pm!

Apparently, blackcircles.com is supposed to be very good.  A chap at work used them with no complaints.

I know how you feel mate...went to local ATS for a battery check and as it turns out battery is knackerd,so whilst there i enquired about a couple of mid range priced Tyre's nearly fainted when the guy came back with £341....however he said that's fitted price.  :o:-?

Bloody gold plated are they was a polite version of my answer...then popped up the place i originally bought the battery for my Elite from asked them to do a battery check (knowing it was knackerd) and surprise surprise ""nah mate that fine"" i then politely explained to the knuckle dragger that a very nice man at ATS confirmed  its only working at 26%...he then shuffled away and came back 15 minutes 15 BLOODY MINUTES LATER with a battery that looked like its just come out of the skip not of a parts shelf, left it on the concrete floor (isn't that meant to do harm to them) whilst taking the old battery off and chatting to his oily rag clothed mate. >:(

Then just to royally pee me off the sodding heater in the estate from hell packed up...now freezing cold in a car that's loosing water and feels no quicker than a moped.!

Still its not all bad as i got to drive the elite yesterday and boy oh boy have i missed that car....bugger its made me get my arse in gear and get it back on the road, lovely and clean (well for a P plate) and oodles of power. :y

And to think i nearly sold it so cheap..... ;D

I find blackcircles and etyres to be around the cheapest, though Wheels In Motion are normally close, and my local ATS normally price match etyres/blackcircles

Thats the north for you!

If i walk out my door at say 3am, walk 500 yards to the bus stop i could get a bus to Heathrow within 20 mins!

Walk 1 mile or so and got a huge Tesco open 24 hours... (although don't expect many checkout operators at 3am ;))

Btw that Quickfit price was extreme!! I'll guy tyres online and get them fitted by my local guy i think!
