Sorry to start new thread, can't be arsed to dig out old one....

You may have posted in it, but there's a chance I missed...

What's the score on your coolant leak, did we resolve it by doing the stat and transfer pipe... or not?

If not fully... did we improve it?

I think there may still be a (smaller) problem iirc...

Hiya James...

I did report back on some of this way back when.........

as it stands, the  heroic efforts by all concerned have eradicated the visible and detectable leaks... and there's no sign of liquid dripping underneath the car.....  whether engine running or not.....

it is still using coolant however.,...  especially when it has to sit in traffic and the temperature goes up....    yet no steam from exhaust, , no oil in coolant, no obvious water in oil./...  WTF??   the cooling fans also seem to be somewhat random in their operation, so i'm wondering about the rad mounted temp switch as well/.

I'm pondering the possibilities of changing the radiator , in case of partial blockage....  (i have a spare , and it looks to be in better nick than the one in the car...  ) and flushing through the system thoroughly.....,  and maybe changing the pipes linking to the heater matrix, as there's a small amount of discolouration around there that MIGHT indicate some tiny leakage around there...

I also still have to get the Handbrake & Suspension sorted for MOT, and the brakes are making some noises i don't much like....  yet no early warning sensor messages on brake wear have surfaced....   (the sensors had BETTER be there....   i bloody paid for them when I had the discs and pads replaced 8 months ago. )

time and money have , as usual, not been in plentiful supply this month....
