Unfortunately the "top" of the police force is as "Politically Correct" and as divorced from reality as Politics has become.

These idiots cannot simply be dismissed as in days gone by .. but must be "counseled", "retrained", "re-educated" ... anything BUT sacked.... 

All far too touchyfeely.. and shit spreads downwards .... 

Ends up with a great many very good, hardworking NORMAL coppers getting stick they don't deserve because of a few idiots and "managers" who are too scared of their own promotion to do something about them.

That's not the issue. Yes we all need them at some point. They are the ones that should set an example, how can they expect Joe Public to law abiding when they clearly flout the law?

I wouldn't have thought that the examples shown were meant to suggest that these officers were representative of the force as a whole or that such incidents were commonplace.

These foolish officers risk being disciplined and rightly so however all dedicated officers should expect support from the public at large as without it the system will not work.

If the system of general law enforcement didn't work it would be all too obvious P.

There has been too much political interference in the operational deployment of police resources and the chief officers of various forces haven't done those under their command any favours by acquiescing to it.

On balance however the police provide an essential service in times when it’s easy to deride it until those doing so have urgent need of assistance.

I  wasn't 'having a go' at the Police in particular Z, merely pointing out that 'Society' in general has been allowed to degenerate to the point that 'without fear or favour' has no meaning any longer. Sorry if any offence was given, it was not intended.

You're quite correct, the general standing of society and the notion that respect must be shown for not only the rule of law but to others within that society have both taken a nose dive.

The police have a long way to go before they can re-establish their credentials and covenant with the public and the sooner they start, by getting out onto the streets and providing a real service free from political correctness, the better.

Talk to a few coppers and you'll hear the same story every time.

Same goes for doctors and teachers. 

It's because this country is no longer run by an elected government.  Instead, it is micromanaged by an army of underqualified jobsworth civil service zombies, who'll agree to anything they are asked to do in order to preserve their pension.  At the top of this mountain of inadequacy and incompetence are the politicians, a mixture of residual Tony's Cronies and Boring Brown nonentities, who are allowed to implement their harebrained policies without any regulation, because they have an overwhelming Commons majority and a totally emasculated House of Lords.

We don't need an election, we need a bl**dy, bloodsoaked revolution!
