I'd start giving the head bolts a good squirt of plus gas every so often. Hopefully they'll have freed off by the time you come to do the manifolds.

Gotcha.  I'll start drenching it.

Any advice on doing it when really hot after a thrash?  Would that help shock them loose?  Probably should only do that when ready to do the gaskets.

They are soooo much more accessible with the heads off.

I would spray them when they're cold. The fluid will just evaporate off rather than penetrate if they're hot.

That's the stuff. Also available in aerosol cans. Whatever's more convenient.
