Right, constructively, let's get the Mig fit for the trek to France.

Bobby Staple's your man here, and he's a trusted and long-standing friend of ourselves.
He's the proprietor of Aberdare Motor Repairs on 01685 878604, and mention my (proper) name. They're right by the railway station, are a long-established family concern, and have a good reputation with VOSA. Although they don't do MoT's themselves, they will arrange such after preparation in their own workshops.

Bobby'll give you a frank report on the car's condition, will not rob you, and will advise you accordingly.
Just indicate your requirements, and leave the rest to him.

Let's see what develops from here ......

Seth, you know the real reason I wanna go to France, I think members here think I am going to get fags and booze, but that is so far from the truth.
I will get such items on way back though.

Di

For the record, I wasnt thinking fags n booze, I was thinking what is obviously at the opposite end of the spectrum to a holiday, like you mentioned earlier and came to the only thing that could sadly be......

Nope... You wouldn't be saying you need to go so desperately just for an "Ash Dash" ;) ;) ;)

I appreciate there must be something more important behind it  :y :y :y

Weren't you supposed to be taking your dad's car? Is that no longer an option? Just thinking outside the box ::) ::)

Sounds to me like there's not too much to be done, TBH. Duff thermostat is not ideal but I wouldn't say it's critical to fix that beforehand. Better to travel with it overcooling than rush that job.

Drive it with the climate on ECO mode and perhaps blank half  of the radiator off, keep an eye on the gauge and it'll be fine.

Adjusting the bonnet catch and tyres and checking the alignment would be a good plan, though. Can't see that taking too long.

His car is LPG, and I was going on Shuttle, so I could not take his car. Then I decided to take the ferry, and I remembered last time I was aboard a fl;oating vessel I ended up in sick bay for 3 hours, so that was out so I had to rebook shuttle today, in fact, eurostar called me today to see if I still wanted the £15 return offer so I jumped at it

Righty-ho... If you can get sea sick on the ferry it's not a good idea :o :o

And £15 return is a good offer :y :y
