thats annoying....
« on: 04 April 2010, 20:26:03 »

Asda fuel station, has kiosks you drive up to after filling up to pay, got to the station, closed! Damn bank holidays, only petrol pumps which had pay at pump  >:(

Still even with LPG level resting on empty, i still managed to do 70 miles  ;D Shows how accurate they are! So without tank full sill had a range of 343 miles  8-)

Tried BP for gas, pump there was tad faster than Total, and it released a lot less gas when disconnecting, hardly anything came out, compared to the clouds of gas from Total.

Trouble is, costs me £7.80 more to fill up there than Total which is just 10 miles down road.  :o

Should have done, but it was running on gas vapours, it already beeped and clicked back to petrol, forced it back, knew it would not get much further. Last time i got 65L and it was refusing to switch to gas, got 66L in at BP.

Plus i just wanted to see if there was any difference in gas on release / pump speed.

I won't be using it again, unless i have to

Daft question time.

Untill you have a safty certificate should you actually be filling it with LPG and using it on the roads.

Yeah its fine, you don't need it to drive, its just that some insurance companies ask.

Last LPG car i had, Direct Line did not mine, did not want to see anything!

There is no legal reason why not - as long as his insurance company are aware of the conversion...

There is no insurance "standard" requirement for LPG certification, it varies between companies as far as I know.

Depends if he's declared it. I am with mine and my insurance company are fine :y

They only stipulated that it must be fitted by a competent person... I used to be a mechanic :y

Not yet, was waiting to get the certificate first.

That reminds me, give Telio a nudge, i rang him last week saying i owe him money, said he would call back... that was Tuesday  ::)

Sent off details to DVLA, was going to wait for that to go through and the ring up insurance and say its LPG, and its registered as such with DVLA. Last time they asked if it was done at a 'garage'

So if required by isurance company and not declared then they just wont pay out in the case of a claim.  You know what they are like with small print.  Same goes for other mods including wheels and different sized tyures, alot of compamies will refuse to pay out in the case of an accident as the car is classed as modified, same goes with SS exhausts and leather trim upgrades.  pathetic really as they never pay the ammount the car is insured for.

But thanks for the understanding in a safety certificate, just wanted to know how people stood.   :y

Basically it's a modification and must be declared as such. What the insurance company wants as proof is highly variable.

I actually spoke to mine and insisted they record the fact it's modified because there was no place to declare it when taking out the policy, just a list of acceptable modifications. They asked if it was fitted by a competent person... I said yes. They didn't ask for any more proof than that :y

What i am aiming for, makes it much more appealing to them that its listed on DVLA as such, so going to wait until i get V5 back, and then ring them up  :)
