didn't know CM was still being published - spent many happy hours poring over those pages full of photostories of sparkling new bolts, subframes and engine parts - everything was so simple then  ;)

I probably skimmed a couple of CMs but learnt most of my car knowledge from Hot Car magazine.  Bought the first issue and nearly all 'til the last.  Occasionally bought "Triple C" (or Cars and Car Conversions) for some highbrow info.

I have a box of 'Car Mechanics' somewhere from the 1960's and '70s.  Wonder if they're worth anything?? ::) ::) ::)

they should have some good articles -

"changing the brushes on your Dynamo"

"fitting new drum brake shoes and springs"

"repairing a split in a remould"

"how to find the engine in a foreign jobbie"

 ;)

Crossply or radial?

Also gapping points in your distributor ;D
