And your religion is?
I am a Christian, albeit not a happy-clappy, regular Sunday church-going type. I do not subscribe to the edicts of the C of E clerics. I do, however, endeavour to follow the basic moral code of Christianity.
My spiritual views are my own. They are dictated neither by religious administrations, nor by the state. I am a free man. I have no need, or desire, to defend my faiths to anyone, least of all to those who have harbour a desire to rid me of them by statute, if necessary. Such people are to be despised.
Despised? A strong word from a religous man which only fuels my opninion that some (not all) religious folk can become irrationally fanatical in what is nothing but a belief, your above comments prove this. I also never for one moment harboured a desire to rid you of your faith, where did that come from?,all i did was question it & look at the reaction that provoked, over protective & aggressive.
I didn't have you in mind when I made those comments.

There are people around, though, and indeed we have seen examples in history (e.g. Germany, USSR) of those who see any form of religion as a threat and have used statutory instruments and/or military muscle in an attempt to quash any religious expression, believing such thoughts or actions to be a threat to the state. These are the people that should, in my view, be despised.
Hope that makes it clear.
