We only have ourselves to blame. We stood by and let laws be passed, many of them in Brussels, which allowed people the most outrageous privileges as a right, and which have gradually eroded our national identity.........

but these are supposed to be the same laws passed throughout Euro-land .... so why/how has Belguim banned full face veils 2 months ago? France is voting on the same thing today.

i don't agree with the pointless practise of ludicrous beliefs impinging on what the ruling leaders say you can or can't wear and we cant allow government to ban clothes - I agree with all of what Entwood says, but what about the devout muslim women who feel it is their right to wear it? arent we acting like some nutty religion too in that case? "no you cant/must wear it - its against the law/our made up beliefs

the whole thing is stupid and pointless - everyone wear what the hell you like, please its the 21st century.....next!  8-)

I'm in envy of your ability to simplify these matters BJ - why didn't I think of saying that?

If we permitted everyone to follow their inclinations the world would be a much better place without doubt.

I can never get over the sight of a British-Asian woman (wearing a Burqa) daubing a placard before a protest march in 'our' Capital, with the unedifying slogan: "Behead the infidels!"
 .....I believe the term 'infidel' as used there, would apply to "the majority of British people" now, by the way!

Like it or not, there is a groundswell of anti-western feeling amongst many young immigrants from the Muslim countries....the French see it and want to do 'something'; perhaps it is time other European nations made assertions on which attire are worn for truly-religious reasons and which are simply worn as a statement of anti-western propaganda/alignment.

It annoys me everyday as I drive home through the centre of Bolton where it's comon place to see 'British Asian' women wearing a veil that covers all but their eyes!
