We have had the car nearly two weeks now. During this time, it has hardly broken down or fallen to bits at all. So up yours, knowalls. :-?

You'll have to let us know when it does fall apart - we'd all be very interested, I'm sure.

At least it's taxed :)

My jibe was aimed at J, but if the cap fits, then wear it, Newbie. Believe it or not, you are not the centre of the OOF universe.

And in that time it has covered a whole 200 yards, using just 42 litres of fuel.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

And 55 litres of oil :D

Us untaxed people need to stick together at the minute  >:( It was obvious you aimed it at him, as you were talking to him :P Far from centre of the universe.

My dad bought a new Renault about 20 years ago. When it was about a year old he was driving along a dual carriageway when the drivers seat mounts broke and he was suddenly looking at the roof lining rather than the road. break knows how he got the thing stopped. He took it back the next day and got shot of it.
He had 6 Vauxhalls before the Renault and bought another   after it.

I think renault/peugeot have come on in leaps and bounds. TBH, I never listen to what other people think before I buy a car. There is no such thing as a 'good car'. Every marque has it's dogs, and if you get a bad 'un, it's just bad luck.

I had a Laguna for 2 weeks last year - worst car I've ever owned, it had electronic sensors on everything right down to tyre pressures, unfortunately, the French have no business fiddling with electronics - leave it to the Japs or the Germans.

traded it in for a far simpler 406 - but I did tell the guy about all the faults, well all I could remember anyway..............it was a lovely looking estate tho, metallic red, turbo diesel, 6-speed box, electric everything......pity  :(
