Firework night tonight - modernn day D-Day
« on: 06 November 2010, 19:52:16 »

Fireworks have been going off here since 6pm

Don't mind the big well lit fireworks, but there's been far too many real big bangers going off.

Anyone else feel like they're in part of a re-enactment of the WW2 anti-aircraft guns going off ?!.  :-/

Apocalypse: World War II (in colour) just started on TV but SWMBO has kicked me out and into the study as she has a penchant for rubbish TV.

A few big bangs in that WWII programme I should imagine

Yes, I know, you are wondering what I am thinking!! :D :D

But seriously it was late one evening when a plane went across sounding just like a Dornier; a regular pulsating droning sound, which is exactly how they sounded in 1940!
Spookey or what, coming 70 years after the blitz started. :o :o

Well they're still having some of the old floating mines turning up on shore.
And you would of only need to worry Lizzie if the droning had stopped very close to you !!  ::)

If we're talking planes.  Some of the most evocative sounding planes for me are:

Spitfire
Mosquito
Lancaster
Vuncan
Harrier
