trouble on the 38th Parallel world....again
« on: 23 November 2010, 10:45:11 »

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-11818005

looks like the new boss is as bad as the old boss in N Korea, whats he doing? hopefully its nothing more than posturing, I just worry the new leader might feel the need to prove himself.....he doesnt strike me as being a particularly balanced individual - but to be fair, with Kim Jong Il as a parent...who would, of course technically its his grandad who still rules N Korea from beyond the grave....bunch of nutters  :(

Regarding Israel, this is one of those occasions when I will have to completely disagree with you Opti.  I'm sad to say.

I'd agree with Opti, the only difference is N Korea is backed by China rather than the USA - but they're both dangerous rogue states who've shown little regard for the outside world  :o

I assume you mean Israel is being backed by the US rather than NK.

In that case I'm sorry to say that I must disagree with you as well BJ.

It is entirely your prerogative to disagree ...Zulu.. :y :y
However..... Israel is a nuclear superpower that is dismissive of international  law...and public opinion....and this makes Israel dangerous in my eyes.

Sadly....Even Obama has little influence over Israel... :-/ :-/

Why does the world community put up with the Pyongyang regime; they`ve been sabre-rattling for years.....`kidnapping girls from Japanese beaches in he 70/80`s.....the 'submarine incidents' and more recently the torpedoing and sinking of the South Korean corvette.

The North Korean regime must have a short memory; for, only in the last few years did we 'Imperialist devils' give aid their starving peoples during successive famines. :-?

I fear where is all this is leading? :'(

WW III possibly.. My American colleague behind me tells me that if South Korea goes to war with North Korea then by the terms of their treaty, the US will have to go to war as an ally of South Korea..

Which means China will, of course, step in as an ally of N. Korea.

No doubt we'll get dragged in with the US either as part of the UN or as part of our 'special relationship'

And it'll all be downhill from there.

The end of the world is nigh!
