give me the 4.2 tdi and you will see its real consumption.. ;D  Audi A8 is really a heavy car and no way it will be economical when you hammer it
even its a disease(l) ;D

Traveling that distance sounds good but, they do have a 90 litre fuel tank!
But still an improvement of my (pre LPG) average of 375m from 75l ::)

Coincidently I have an Autotrader page open looking at an A8 Quattro  :-? I can't see the diseasal being that bad on fuel.   :-/

A colleague had one - he averaged 30mpg on a run, IIRC..

Which model did Clarkson take to Glasgow from London & back on a single tank ..... just

He used the 4.0 TDi, which is less efficient than the 4.2 TDi too :y Is this the same Di that, joined, left, joined again, left then joined again, left and has now joined again to tell us she's bought an Audi?

Yup, quite easy to tell!

I'm a fan of the A8 too, 4.2TDi is actually excellent on fuel, better than the Omega. Got an Audi dealer near work, been in there few times, the A8 cabin is a lovely place to be, I love the centre console gear shift area, everything is where you think it would be!
