My neighbour and his wife don't believe in seat belts, never wear them (I just hope they never have a crash), b****y idiots.

I'd shop them a few fines would help them learn

They need to see some pics of the aftermath of a road accident where the occupants were not wearing seat belts.........its not pleasent at all and equally not nice for those having to sweep up.

I think the only person who would benefit is the coroner.....as he has fewer cuts to make!

Having seen, first hand the carnage caused by not wearing seatbelts, I would agree with Mark.
What they also need to know is the coroner may not have enough worthy of making a cut!

Friend of mine he was 19 8 years ago coming back from a night club a bit drunk, he fell asleep went of the road with very small speed and the car tipped over, he(RIP) with no seatbelt the door opened his head was levered between the sideskirt and the gravel, instant death. TRAGIC. In 3 miliseconds the passive safety systems on a modern car deploy to save your life. I don't know anyone that has the reflexes or the strength to keep his mass*11*0.98.
I'm glad Dave you are one of those that wear the seatbelt!

Without a seatbelt on, I would probably be an [smiley=engel017.gif] now!

Thanks Kostas. :)

Hope the aches and pains ars starting to ease Dave,  :y on the subject of seatbelts a friend recently bought an Austin Cambridge, which because of its age had no seat belts He took me round the block in it to show me his purchase. The feeling of insecurity and unease I felt was intense. Not having that belt in place felt so wrong. I cant understand anyone who without good reason chooses not to wear it :(

I play golf with him occasionally, if we travel in my car I insist he wears a seat belt.

If we travel in his car, unfortunately I have no control.

If he see's a police car, he tucks his right arm through the seat belt, to make it look as though he's wearing it

I'm rather annoyed at mine.  Didn't hold when I got smacked up the @rse and both cars were written off.  Tore a muscle in my back that still bothers me a little 8 years later.  >:(

Life saved three times, saved from injury at least twice (you can have accidents with little car damage which would hurt you)

well mine definitely saved me when I had my roll ... as the van ended on its' roof, with me pinned in the seat by the seatbelt ... that's good enough justification for me  :y
