Around 16:00hrs I was travelling behind a Luton type van on a narrow single carriageway road into the Town Centre when the traffic in front of me stopped dead both ways & stayed that way for several minutes. Must be a jam up ahead, or the lights are staying on red a bit longer than usual I thought? Next thing is a young bloke walking down the middle of the road waving a sheaf of papers at me!

What the F...lip is he upto I thought, & my 1st instinct was to not open my window, but he looked like he needed help so I rolled it down to have the papers shoved at me & a heavy European accent (possibly Polish?) asking me 'where was this place'? After telling him he was going the wrong way & giving directions how to get to his drop off place he disappeared without so much as a smile & the traffic began moving again. It turned out this guy was driving an Artic with a flatbed full of steel box sections & he'd just stopped it in the middle of the road blocking both lanes while he ran up & down the lines of stalled traffic trying to find someone who could tell him where his drop off was!

But wait!....it gets better

about 400 yards further on the traffic all stopped again only this time several of us got out of our cars to see what was going on, and bugger me if the same guy hadn't just swung his tractor across the junction @ the lights, forcing everyone to a halt while he did a THREE POINT TURN!!

It was a bit comical seeing everyone stopped at all the sets of lights trying to back up out of his way, but Jees, you had to be there to half believe your own eyes! Best part was he was driving a British wagon! :-/
