Ahem!

Back to the original topic, I have learnt an absolute ton of stuff that has saved me money and kept the old nail running and am eternally grateful to all those who take their time to pass on their knowledge.  If I had to single out the one thing that kept her out of the crusher during her darkest hour when time and patience was at an all time low and nothing else seemed to make sense, then that thing is...

I have learnt I am not allowed to express my personal opinion here  :'(

I've also learnt that keeping 300ish regular members, all strangers to each other (mostly), is a full time job for the 7 of us.

But more importantly than the effort involved, the money spent, and the stress and anguish is something very heartwarming, and makes everything worthwhile...

...complete strangers, in the right environment, lose the common, modern, selfish "me! me! me!" ignorance and are prepared to put themselves out to help others for nothing more than that warm feeling of satisfaction...

...we call it the OOF Spirit, and I think that is very, very precious.

Nicely put Jamie, I must admit it's allways the best place to hang out on the net.

As for the original thread title i saved myself calling the AA in the early morning (would have been embarrasing for where we were parked as well)  Gearbox selector had got slightly stuck in park early yesterday, but later on I forgot all about it, parked up and as usual put the box into "Park"

Pressing the brake pedal asual the gear selector wouldnt unlock, tried pushing it forward/backwards/up/down all whilst pulling the lock collar up and contantly trying all ways to unlock it.

Then I remembered what I had read on the forum, took the leather gator off and saw the yellow lever, pushed it and Hey Presto, back on the move.

Just need to post in the jelp section now on how to fix it as I cant hear the solenoid disengageing to unlock it.

Excellent forum, but then we all allready know that dont we.   :y :y

Although I can't do much in the way of servicing or repair work myself, I've gleaned a multitude of knowledge about the Omega and various common faults and causes. Believe it or not, it really helps as I can tell my garage mechanic what needs doing most of the time without a lengthy diagnosis. Also tend not to panic now when some fault/check pops up on the MID. :y
