We have moved away slightly though from the Smoking is Expensive question.... Children Martin are expensive but we don't notice it do we? a friend of mine always seemed loaded with money when we had the girls and he had no children. Then he had a daughter too and is always complaining on how much money they cost and he cant afford now to run his brand new BMW...... we get used to spending the money out until will dont notice it or something else takes a back seat if that makes sense :)

To Cancer.
My Dad has Cancer a good friend of mine also has cancer we all know someone how has been hit by this horrible thing, but were they all smokers???

Speak for yourself............ ::) ::) ::)
I understand what you mean though....... :D :D :D

Miss Vamps wants to bring a friend to the lakes meet, so a Static is essential,(Money) Grandad offered to loan her a tent, her face was a picture... ;D ;D ;D

I was more of a social smoker really could take it or leave it, but when Mrs Loo knee packed in so did I. She saved the money that we spent on fags only then did we realise how much we spent, when you can actually see it there in money over the year that could take you and your family on a good holiday.....
But who are we to judge someone else?
I like my Pink Frilly Underwear am I bothered??

That's how a mate of mine did it, he threw all the cash he would have spent on cigs into a jar. It bought him a pc after a few months and he hasn't smoked since.

My best mate had a bit of a scare, probably not caused by smoking, but certainly not helped by it. His missus also put his 'Fag Money' in a jar, and that money is now his 'treat moeny' - buying himself little luxuries, and funding our Friday nights out in town.

It amounts to a reasonable amount of cash, but then as he says, his rollups where his treat/luxury before his illness....

I'll never be able to give up smoking. I might have the willpower but the craving would never leave me, stuff living with that. I enjoy my roll ups & agree it's an expensive unsociable habit & an incredible health risk but you can die of anything anytime so i choose to take my chances. I spend all day on the road, if another truck hits me i could be history.
  I used to banger race, very few deaths ok but you get the idea, jogging causes all sorts of damage due to repetitive calf/heel damage. I don't have a sweet tooth & am doing really well lately moderating my food intake, volume & matter. I could do with a little more cyclig & walking but i still get more excercise than those who only leave thier desk to visit the water cooler & i breathe fresh air all day every day & night, windows open all year round.

   That said although i'll never be an ex smoker i do wish i'd never started ::)

It took me 25 years to stop Guy. I had many times when I thought I could never do it. That first one with a cup of tea in the morning........
Never think about it now tbh. ;)

True. I respect my non smoking friends house rules but they love my curries so i'm usually allowed to smoke in one room, usually the kitchen with window open.
    They have said that with roll ups the smell's gone next day whereas tailor mades linger longer.

   Tailer mades have saltpetre to keep them alight & other stuff that rolling tobacco does'nt. I know i still should'nt do it though! :D
