You could have swapped jobs.  You don't need a license on the golf course? ;D

Emu i can see that your clearly not a business man and I think that millwall has taken the correct action against this guy after all if he can lie to a so called friend about some thing as serious as getting banned and continuing to drive a company vehicle where is the trust there? I would go on wiki or look at the dictionary to find a quote for trust but i really can’t be bothered. Also if you put a reply in be man enough to stick by it and not delete it straight away.

i did manage to see his comment rikki   still  he probably thinks im a bit lazy  playing golf when i should be working which is fair enough  but i do all the night call outs and still work during the day  my company only consists of 3 people and if i can keep 2 people in work im happy  and most of the time i earn less than the 2 that work for me  so thats why i wasnt happy at having to pay to get my van back :y

Point is, is this the correct place to be telling the world you have just sacked someone, and it ruined your round of golf?

I read the OP golf reference as 'tongue in cheek 'banter :y
You are running a business, succesfully I assume. You are giving two people employment, and still doing the 'crap' yourself. :y
That you choose and find time to play golf is your business alone. Good luck to you, mate :y
I have been in a very near situation to you, and it does make you wonder whether people appreciate or even care whether you go through the rigours of running a business to give then a job/living >:(
I am in the process of having to make someone redundant, and all I am getting from him is sh1t. The choices are ..he goes or business closes. :(

it can be very tough at times and sounds like you are in the worst situation possible  unfortunately for him  you and your business come first  and laying off or sacking people is never a nice thing to do

I am getting very hard and anti now. Despite offering alternatives (hours/wage cuts), he refuses to accept anything as alternative. He wants the full job, no ifs and buts >:( Been mucking about for 6 months now, but the end of the road is in sight. I have backing now from audit/financial team.
Sorry mate, did not mean to hijack your thread, but its just that people like you and me try to help others and we get s**t on from a great height >:(
Rant over :y
