Got to be honest, chaps but, for me, a tattoo is like a having a side-skirt, tinted windows and lowered suspension on a Corsa.

Seems like a good idea at the time, but fashions change. Within a few months, it will be a guaranteed complete embarrassment.  :-[

No tattoos, no worries!  :y

 :( :( :-[

That would also depend on if you liked side skirts and tinted windows old bean.  ;)

I liked velvet loon-pants and zapata moustaches in the 70s. Wouldn't want to walk around Hampstead dressed like that now!  ;) ;D ;D ;D

Now you say, so you did at sometime? Brave man you my friend  ;D

I have one on each upper arm, both of which extend slightly below the sleeve of average T-shirts but would be out of sight when wearing a 'casual but smart' type short sleeved shirt.
As advised previously, think long and hard about what you want and even longer about whether you really want one.
I have a mate that has spent a fortune having ones on his forearms removed.
My personal rule is no tats where they can't be covered up if need be.

Watch Top of the Pops from the 1970s and you'd think everyone was...well, you know what I mean. Darned Village People put a stop to that great fashion period.  ;)  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

What planet are you on?  Those days are long gone! :-? If you don't move in those kind of circles then the relevance is meaningless and its up to you where you put your body art.  Piercing and tattooing have become far too mainstream for such generalisations to include everyone.

thanks for all your comments guys.

gooseman, thanks for the superimposing thing. could you do it with my initial pic?

cheers folks

Yes, no problem.

But as others have said, for the arm I should have a think a bit more of how you'd like the bear to be.  Personally I think the bear on it's own looks better, the background may detract from the bear itself if too much.

And as others have said as well, do your research on the tattooist you choose  :y

Its a stereotype that the body mod community are trying to move away from and links like that aren't helpful in removing that prejudice! ;)
