Ok mate, i knew that, already got a lapsed CBT on a GS 125 but what about the theory/haz perception test? That has to be fitted into said week?

I would assume you still have to do it in advance

Only has to be done before the test, can be taken during that week, but often done before. You have to pass both at the same time, there is a "nack" to the video bit  ;)

If it is anything like the car perception test then you fail as an 'Advanced Driver' as it can not cope with the level of early identification of hazards.......... ::) ::) ::)

Exactly what I had, I was clicking too early outside the points section. I found "batch" clicking of around 5 or so when you see the danger ensured max points.

Always wanted one on these as a teenager, the factory was at the bottom of my road where I was born :-

Never had one though, ended up with a Vespa :(

I am really glad that I did the hazard perception when it was in its infantcy. I certainly would not like to do it now! Only one click... madness!

Likewise, but more associated with the later Super Dream.  :y
I once saw a 400 Dream in a bike shop with an autobox - I believe it was along the lines of the DAF Variomatic rubber band drive.  :-/

failed mine on U turn too, but test has changed again, I was one of the last to get through on the old system.

Its now split, you do a test off road in a car park. U turns, S bends and such, which have to be done at 30mph even in wet. Quite a few compaints about that, lot of people fallen off  :o

Emergency stop ect all done off road, you then do the on-road bit afterwards.

DAS course, which is straight to the big bike test (over 500cc) will cost around £500 :(
Straight to the big bike test?

You have the CBT, the bike training. That will allow you up to 125cc with L plates.

But for the test, to ride any power motorbike now, you need to take your test on a 500cc+ (usually a 500cc or 600cc)

Its called the DAS "Direct Access" - These causes often include CBT, so you do that on the Monday, then migrate to big bikes Tuesday, taking your test on the Friday  :y

You can't do lessons, you have to do a (normally) week long course  :)

If your CBT expired in the last year or 2, you may have to wait, as there is some rule about not being able to 'renew' CBTs

... and i used to try keeping up with yam rds on our honda super dreams.

  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

That just confirms you're an old bugger.

You never hear of the earlier Honda Dreams any more do you?  :-? ;) ;)

My Dad had a Honda Dream which had a full white fairing, people used to slow down and pull into the kerb, felt great that did why I was sat on the back. He then had the Super Dream. He had the GSX250 after that which I swapped him my CB100N for as soon as I passed my test. I had the bike 2 weeks then went onto our local Sunday Charity Motorbike ride "The Egg Run" where an RD125 overtook me like I was standing still. Monday afternoon I was the proud owner (or shall I say the bank was  ;D) of my first RD350 YPVS N1.....  What a bike. :y
Funny how I can still remember the reg number B967 BGP, wonder where it is now?

I cheated and done my test as restricted upto 33BHP :D, although after two years you can migrate to the big boys toys.  My big boy is a yammy 600 divvy, suits me.

My young lad just took his CBT and is just waiting to get his plates and bike (he's looking at a chinese replica of Honda CBR) they look quite nice :y
