Have to be honest Mr T not sure if there is a difference or not with the units ??.  :-?.

However, I would guess that it's to do with the set up on how the projector lamp is set for R/H or L/H at the factory there made at, depending on what side of the road the cars destined for ?.
Especially as the one's I have had what looks like a lens convertor for continental driving.

Anyone else able to answer this one better ?.

And to the answer of putting them back together, Lee you've beaten me to the answer again  ;) .

Yeah, don't want to get the kind of sealant that once it's on you'll never get the damn thing off again !!.

difference between LHD and RHD is obviously the beam pattern it creates.

Note, the levers do NOT!! convert one type to the other

I think it's meant as Euro style headlights, rather than the shiny silver reflectors they are gloss black.

I tried everything to clean the headlamp lenses.

Brasso
Rubbing compound
Nail polish remover
Alloy wheel cleaner

The sticky stuff remained sticky even after use of all these. In the end the lens still looked crap so then I used sand paper which means I lost the clarity through the lens. Still not happy therefore purchased a new set of cheapo Depos from Germany (as mines cock handed).

Well last night managed to finish off both main parts of the reflectors.  Found out that the chrome finish on the inner lights is so thin that you can take it off using a bath towel without any trouble ?!  :-? .  Yet one side of the direction lights (indicators) seamed to be coated much thicker !.  May have to look into some chrome paint to touch up the bits that have rubbed off .
Otherwise its lots of glue & bake-o-foil !!  ;D .

It's been lot of work to get the ribbed bits all smoothed down (even with W&D240 grade), & then 800 grade, but think all this work will be worth it in the end (better bl**dy be !), but taking my time as the better the prep, the better the finish at the end of the day.

And yes will post some pic's once it's done, so you can see for yourself.

Damn things all gone wrong  >:(  >:( .

masked the chrome part, sprayed the rest of the main reflector with no problem, and went to take the masking tape off (and it's not strong addisive), and the bl**dy chrome has come off with it  >:( .

Got to try and find some form of quality 'chrome spray' if I can to replace where it's come off, if not then I've wasted over 6Hrs of prep in total to get them ready.

Got few options left now.

1. Throw teddies out of pram, bin everything and forget idea altogether.

2. Try to get chrome spray to replace where it's come off, then put lamp units back together.

3. Forget whole thing and try to find some custom lamps that I'm after on some German ebay, etc.  Pay over odds, and postage, then just learn by experience.

4. Try to locate some thin form of thin film, and try to glue it in place of where the inner reflectors are.

5. Think of any other options ????  :-/  :-/ .

Had it not been for the thin reflective coating on the inner lamps, everything would have been fine, and would of had them back together this weekend  >:( .

Your profile suggests you are in the UK,however, you are appear to be seeking a lamps suitable for LHD vehicles. I've just bought a pair of DEPO's off the German ebay site, mine being LHD. Cost me around £150 incl delivery to the UK. I've also noted a few pointers between Hella and DEPO's but let me know if you're intrested and I'll give you the Ebay details. Mine were xenons btw.

Actually I'm in the UK, and was converting RHD Xenon lights to the Euro (black look) as they don't seem to make them for the RHD Omega's, nor can I find anyone in the UK that sells them for the Facelift Migs, that's why I bought a 2nd hand pair to convert.  Though in all honesty I wasn't expecting to have as much problem as I've had doing the conversion  :-/ .

I know there are black look headlights on the German ebay site, but no point getting them if they'll only fit pre-facelift models, and wouldn't look good if you have to put a lens converter on there to get the light beam to be in the right place ?!  :-?.

Thanks for letting me know about the link though, as it is appreciated.

Lee you may have helped save the day ?.

Does it have good adhesive on it, and can you cut it to shape do you think, as I know I'll have to make some paper templates, then cut to shape before sticking on.

Looks like teddies get to stay in the pram for now then  :)  ;D

Doesn't the adhesive mirror film crumple up as you line the reflector curves?
