Ideally i'd like my manual MV6 & a big Elite auto est like Broocies. I don't mind autos in a big car & they're great if you're a cabbie in traffic every day.
   Overall i prefer manual, i tend to use autos manually but that only compensates so far. I agree with TB the Omega manual box is'nt the slickest i've driven.

average life of a clutch is very much down to how the driver uses or abuses it but a good rule of thumb is around 150k

I drive an Auto, but if I could drive a manual, I'd go for the manual version of Mig.

Manual every time would be my choice, plus as others have said, lot of threads about auto problems !!.

Fine for day to day driving, press the sport button if you want more / quick response, or manually over ride the box, lets be honest we are not looking at sports car performance.....

I've driven a lot of cars ( worked for a rent a car company as a student before). And I would buy an auto if the car is Diesel, but no way if its petrol. Simply consumes too much fuel. I have a manual mig, and the box is not bad at all. Of course it is not like bmw but better than many other cars. And judging from forum experience most auto boxes on migs are sh.. . One more thing, definitely no joy in driving an auto on a cornery country road
