I know this is going to be one of them personal preference kind of answers but here goes

Whats the best way of protecting my miggy for the winter  :question

I've heard people talking about clay barring? the paintwork  :-? is autoglm any good or do i need this caruuba stuff.

Just  been into halfords and could of quite eaisly emptied the wallet but thought i'd ask on here before buying in to the marketing crap that i normally do.

Answers on a postcard please

Autoglym super resin polish is the one I use.
Tried most other products and this seems to last longest...........must do the new miggy when we get a dry day.

Depends how long you want to spend.

 If I had a spare day, I'd go for -

Wash, dry, clay bar, then wash and dry again, then some Super Resin Polish, and top it off with Collinite 476S.

 Bilt-Hamber Autoclay is about a tenner a bar online, and you just use water as a lube.

Autoglym's SRP is easy to use, and works well.

Collinite 476S, about 20 quid for a tin and application kit, again online.  This is the best wax I've used, simply because it lasts for months - do it once, and you'll not need to wax it again - mine's not been waxed since February and it still beads water...

 I'd recommend cleaning the wheels up and waxing them too - then it stops them corroding, and you'll be able to wash the brake dust off with water alone.

 If you want a quicker job, wash, dry, SRP, then Collinite.

I always try and give mine a good clean every month.
This includes a clay bar, with maguires.
Then a quick wash again.
Then i use "S100" shine enhancing cleanser, remove with a good buff.
Then i use "S100" carnauba wax.
It does look very nice after, and the wax gives it a good protective coat.

if you dont have the habit of parking under a tree, just wash it and use a protector wax with carnauba.. (at least 1 time in 2 months)

Ive been using demon shine in the final rinse water seems to be quite good. Although i have given it a good polish with mer.

Just remember that super resin polish has very little wax in it so you shoudl add a further stage

I favour modern synthetic wax rather than carnauba based as it lasts longer (e.g. Meguiars NXT).

wash and dry car again
3 stage meguiars polish (3 different bottles)
then meguiars nxt wax to finish
also do glass with autoglym glass cleaner (not fast glass)
and use back to black to do the trims

It lifts all the tar and surface rubbish off the paint (its a bit like blue tac and works really well)

oh yes its good indeed, the best way to test it is do half your wing with the clay bar and leave the other half and feel the difference it is great and does a fantastic job

Sounds like hard work to me but if you guys reckon its worth it and the results are that much better.

Can't be anymore difficult than the time i T-CUT one panel on my white transit  a day and a half later it looked very shiney

IMHO it is a lot easier than t-cut, normally takes me about 3 hours if i do it properly and dont take breaks lol.

If i am doing a customers car unless they specify they want a full exterior valet i just wash it, blade it and chamois it then do the windows and wax it, then hoover the interior and do the dash, takes bout hour and 45 mins
