03 Fiesta Problem
« on: 09 December 2009, 12:09:41 »

Hi,

The engine management light has come on on my wifes 03 Fiesta.  :(
She says it won't accelerate well & feels juddery but ticks over pretty much OK!
I think it has gone into 'limp home mode'  :-?

One of my neighnours thinks it might be the ignition coil or perhaps even a spark plug as does my brother (who's a mechanic but hasn't taken a look).

It's only done 38k & the oil's up to the mark, not much to go on I know but any ideas?

Oh & is it safe to drive (albeit slowly) to a garage?

Cheers

I would also say it sounds like an ignition issue, TBH.

If the plugs are original it's about time it had a new set anyway.

Why? Is it out of petrol? Go on - fix it yourself. :y

Hi Kevin,

It's getting the time (& a place) to have a go!
It had a full service a few months ago, the plugs should have been changed then.

If they were changed it is possible it's a faulty plug but... :-X :-X :-X
