Your Opinions COUNT

What are your opinions on this?
Is it really a CLASSIC?
Is it really worth £1650?
My best friend has one on an ' M ' Plate, but nowhere near the condition this one is apparently in.

Well it's a Cossy.  :y But seriously is this a classic already? If so you might only wish to use on special occassions?

My 1999 Omega Elite 24V with Sat Nav and leather was bought off ebay from a local guy in a private sale for less than £1300, I will have owned it 2 years in April and it has 84K on it.  Which is 11K more than the Scorpio but 8 years younger.

I am a Vauxhall fan over Ford all day long.  Other's prefer Ford over Vx, so personal choice.

If I were a ford fan and really wanted that car I would 1st go and check it out and have a spin in it with no more a £1000 in my pocket, if it ricked all the right boxes then make the bid, but at £900, at least you can go £100 more.  If no deal then leave him your mobile number and walk away.

It will either sell for what he wants or he will phone you.

Also remember it is still a buyers market, Christmas and the New Year has to be paid for so car sales are slow, use it to your advantage.

All the best what ever you choose to go for.

Don't know much about them, but it looks the part all but for a dodgy looking fit on the rear bumper :D

To be honest I don't think it is quite a classic as yet. The bottom fell out the market for these cars around mid to late 2007 if I remember correctly.

If you were selling it I don't think you would get more than £700 for it. £1,650 is a bit over the top. Might be worth getting a feel of what the seller is realisticly expecting.

well i like the car i do like fords i was brought up round granadas my dad had a lovely 3ltr mk 1 and he has a black one of them g reg tho its not the cossy just scorpio,as skruntie was suggesting tbh it is dated and its not a classic a classic ford is what guys got and for an ole motor like that nice as it is i think yer lookin at 7 to 9 hundred pound and would be better gettin something newer for less than his askin price, thats just my opinion :)

you could get classic insurance for it, Senators are now classed as Classics as well.

I would not pay that money for it, but for those that like Scorpio's will, its like us paying over the odds for a low millage 3.2 Elite  :)

Looks great and is now rare spec, decent colour, if all ok and you wanted one-would you find another like it?

In perspective, its not a lot of money if the paint repair did not just gloss over the usual arch rot.

Worth it for a piece of recent automotive history I think-if that is what you want.  Should hold its value over the next few years even if it does not appreciate much in the next ten.

Lovely motors, not reallly a "classic" yet but a lot of owners like/wish to think they are.

Tad expensive to run, worse MPG than my 3.2 Omega. Don't hit a "sleeping policeman" or other large pothole hard .. not only will you damage the suspension but the engine might stop !! If you don't know about the little reset switch by the boot catch you could be there for hours !!! It's a simple "g" switch that isolates the fuel pump.

Cossies tend to have been driven hard (why have one if you don't) so worth a very good check of service history. If the engine goes wrong it WILL be expensive to fix !!!

I never thought I would have a better tow car than the scorpio ... until I towed with the Omega ... IMHO    :)

I work beside a guy who is in the Ford RS Club .... he has kept various Ford Cossies over the years and always keeps them in fabulous condition with no expence spared ... he looked at the Egay listing and reckons no more than £1000 .... :y

That reminds me - I've got the rear subframe of one of these dumped in my back garden somewhere. Must chop it into less-suspicious sized bits and take it to the tip. ::)
