£1600 is the starting bid, Buy it now is £2100, for an R Reg MV6. I thinks NOT More like £600, no matter what he has done to it, that is my opinion anyways?

Read it again, its not a shopping car love, its a well looked after superchipped manual MV6 with a limited slip diff, lowered and polybushed, grooved discs, lcd screens in t' headrests, ect... ect..
if its what he says it is, its worth every penny :y

All of that crap does nothing for its value, in fact, the opposite.
[/highlight]

Only to a purist ;D

Errr, to anyone with common sense. You want all that crap on your car? Sure.... buy £500 bog standard one, spend £500 fitting chav-me junk... still cheaper than that heap of shite on eGay

Your'e only jealous cos' you drive a 2.2 grandadmobile ::)

So now you cannot come up with a counter argument, and know i am right, but cannot admit it, you turn to slagging off my car?  ;D ;D ;D Think someone has just made a right chump of himself  ;D

I wasnt slagging your car off any more than you were slagging that poor defenceless blokes car off! I mean how do you know its not a genuine motor? Those mods if done correctly  :)to a car of that age WILL add value not de-value it.

Basic sums, all those modifications do not add up the value he is trying to sell it at.

Only to a very limited market... To most post-pubescent people it's just a load of cr*p added to a car which probably hasn't been maintained all that well ::) ::)

Exactly, amount of dead cars i have seen on the side of the road with chav-me alloys and body kits.... if only they had spent their money on keeping it maintained right  :)

Personally I reckon Omega values are starting to rise.

1) F/L Elites and MV6 are rare, estates are sought after.
2) PFL 3.0s are often broken for their cams and their engines for transplants.
3) sCRAPpage scheme removing a few decent PFLs.

Due to these I think the values will hold, VGC examples may even go up (like the Roger Budden ones).

If you are thinking of buying this car ... think "insurance" as well.

All these "extras" should be declared as modifications... and insurance companies don't like  things like "superchip" "lowered" "grooved discs"  etc etc .. as the risk factor has just risen dramatically.

I actually sympathise with the guy, I used to be a member of the modified cars brigade when I was much younger... those modifications must have cost him way more that the premium he is trying to get for his car, so in fact he is taking a loss here (as said, been there, done that...). But the sad reality is that not only can you not get back what you put into a modified car, in fact this can even reduce its value - car modifiers prefer to do it themselves, because modifications can be done well or poorly, and if the latter then you are in for a lot of trouble. The problem is that unless you do these things yourself there is no way of knowing if they have been properly...

One more thing to consider is that the Omega is a big yet relatively simple car. This is a rarity which will help it keep its value. Most large cars (e.g. Jaguars, Audi A6/A8, etc) have complicated engines and electronics which makes maintenance uneconomical when they get older, while the Omega can be maintained forever on a very tight budget or even by DIY. As long as you avoid the obvious pitfall e.g. change cambelt in time etc there is very little that can't be reasonably fixed on the Omega.

And the only competition that the Omega estate has is from Volvo estates - which cost more and are not better.

The screens poorly installed into the headrests will give you an idea of the quality of the motor.

Not just the cables hanging down, the fit and finish is uneven to say the least nevermind holes in the headrest that aren't covered properly
