Hmm. :-/

Chassis is bent from the rear of the engine bay. So that's why the steering wheel was wonky. :'(

I think it's going to be a rebuild around a new / repaired chassis.

Looks like I won't be getting bored any time soon.

Arse! :'( :'( :'(

I assume it's a tubular chassis... Could you not just replace the bent sections :-? :-?

Mind you... Still an engine out job I suppose :( :(

Perhaps some of those "Upgrades" will need to be fitted at the same time ::) ;)

Shoot! My silly cash offer & youtube post don't seem so funny now.
Hope you can sort it cheaply & still do a proper job retaining the usual handling & character. Guy.

Chassis itself is simple enough but repairing distortion in the centre isn't going to be feasible without jigging it IMHO.  Think I'll see what Westfield say about repairing it. I believe they will fit a new front section but it does need to be stripped bare.

Perhaps it's an opportunity. it was starting to look a little tired anyway, if I'm honest.

Would have preferred to have started a rebuild in about November in an ideal world. ;D

Anyone got a V6 I can put a tape measure to? Help! Stop me!

And following our discussion about Westfield handling on the way back here the other night :o

On the upside, its only bent metal, I'm so glad to hear that you're not hurt.

.......and I'll be pitching up at your place on thursday with an LS1. I might even let you under the bonnet with a tape measure, but I'll frisk your pockets afterwards.

p.s. I weighed it last night, it's actually lighter than an Omega !

MV6 F/L - 1590kg
EVO 500 - 1425kg
Commodore SS - 1570kg

Handling didn't come into it. The only control I had was the effect of the front wheels acting as a rudder in the oncoming airflow. Road surface was ice with running water trickling over it. :o
