Using phone to unlock
« on: 13 March 2010, 14:32:49 »

Just posably my wild thought of the weekend, phone tec has advanced tenfoleds from A G Bells original use, we can now call, text, take photos, short film(or long) surf the internet, use as sat nav and menny other use as far as fm brodcasting.
So with all this posable can you use your mobile to unlock your car prefrebly using curant tec built in to the vehacle, or would ther need to be somthing els added to the centrale locking unit to recive a signal?

If this is posable then locking the keys in car would be a thingh of the past as verry unlikly to leave phone in car but oddly left sevral keys in them and the have been loked by frindly naighbours thinking that I had forgoten to loke the d@.. thingh.

OnStar had the capability in USA, but I believe we didn't get it in Europe  :-/  :-/ Certainly not used on our CCRT700 head units

Yep, I have a GayPhone and there is at least one App for a Clifford system that will allow you to lock/unlock the car and start the engine remotely.

Have to have a top spec Clifford system fitted though sadly......

Appart from my good neighbours locking the car for me thinking I have left it unlocked by accident, key left in glove box or somwhere out of view. The key I have for the mig do not have the locking buttons on it and my other motor key the buttons have fallen apart so I kind hoped that a simple open/lock function on a phone that I curantly have acces to would do the job, (boys and there toys, so the miss would say But verry good point

Just been looking for a app writing software as the one phone is linux based os

Clifford been doing it for years and was it Tod alarms that did it as well, cant justify spending that much on a car I cant always be botherd to lock though, prehaps on a v6 f/lift model it would be difrent mater
