focus door lock problem
« on: 15 April 2010, 10:18:36 »

Not mig related i know, but dont know what the problem is with father in laws y plate focus. The central locking motor doesent work on the drivers door when you turn the key in it,but all the others do,but if you unlock it from the passenger side the drivers door will work then :-/.Also it is not remote central locking, but he has the remote key fob,so can it be programmed for it,and its a cl model,so shoul it have remote locking. :y

See your back online then lee :y,thanks for the offer lee,but i had the lot apart yesterday, and couldent see anything wrong, and it was a complete barstool to get back together.Found out on a forum though something about fuse 63 that often blows, but if it was that, surely none of the motors would work from the passengers side door.I take it that it controls the complete locking system. :y

I did say I was going to be about :P

Most likely drivers door solonoid. Cheap enough from a scrapyard. They aren't as awkward to change as the rear solonoids in the mig!

As for programming the remote CL. Sit in, cycle the ignition from off to II (red lights) 4 times in 15 seconds and leave it on II the 4th time, it will beep to confirm programming mode. Then press and hold the lock on the remote for 3 seconds and release it should beep again. then ign off, gett out and try it ;) :y
