From This to This!?
« on: 02 May 2010, 19:41:27 »

Shall I go from this to this?

Omega to a Disco? (Disco is diesel and I have plenty of cooking oil).

Previously had 5 defenders and loved them!  8-)

Bit of an odd question really.

Depends what you want from a car, only clue you give is in a hint that you want to run a disco of chip juice.

You had 5 of them in the past, you mention nothing of family size or wanting to off road.

Do you do a lot of mileage.

Only you can make your mind up, we cant do that for you, allthough we could help if it was a couple of migs.

pot holes is my main problem, not that I aim for them lol.

better visibility in a land rover plus a bit of intimidate'ability lol.

running costs on the omega, around town its only doing 15 - 20mpg, 3.0 mv6. Disco would be far cheaper on chip juice lol.

I know there not as quick but I only do 60 on the motorway in the omega on cruise, 38mpg :)

and if I do come to selling you lot will have the first shout... here is just the service history etc,,,

Omega offers assured handling, good power units and spacious, comfortable interiors. Engines are the efficient Ecotec units. A better proposition than elderly executives like Scorpio and Rover 800 and it's almost an affordable alternative to the old BMW 5-Series. It's just a pity that it's not visually more attractive. However, if you're looking for a great car and you don't care what anyone else thinks then this could be just what you're looking for. No-one will dislike your car, they simply won't notice it. If you need more proof of its credibility as a driving machine, traffic police loved Omega. ‘Parkers’

I agree, that shape just doesn't do it for me and they're unsafe in an accident.

I voted "No", as you should keep your miggy.

I personally would never have one of those Land Rovers as at speed they can be very unstable :o :o  I knew of two police officers killed when their patrol vehicle overturned at speed in Hampshire during the late 1970s :'( :'(

For speed you should be low to the ground, not six foot up! ::) ::) ;)

At 112k you never put if it had the tensioners changed, if it didn't then as Pete says it's way overdue.

112,124 MILES – OIL SERVICE – CAMBELT – 08/11/2007 'VAUXHALL DEALERSHIP SERVICE'

Just looked at the history, over £2,000 spent at dealers  :o - yes it had the full kit, I just put 'cambelt' instead of cambelt kit.

and I forgot to mention the major items, at 112K it also had new shocks, new head gaskets, oil cooler etc.

Ah well a cambelt isn't the kit, hence why Pete said what he said  :y

I'm no farmer, but I'd have a Disco 3 over an Omega any day!
Brought up on Vauxhalls, but I know a bloody good car when I've driven one.
Driven a few Disco 3's and love them. I just can't quite afford one yet, but it will be my next car...........
