Off the clock
« on: 13 May 2010, 21:18:04 »

Not sure if it,s real but having some time on my hands ::) ::) and seen some clips of Omega,s runing off the  speedo clock right up to 160mhp.

I know that they speedo will be somewhat out but can they run to the max ,as i guess there is no speed limiter on them.

no limiters afaik, as the max stated speed is under the 165mph 'gentlemans agreement'

possibly they have a lower geared diff fitted. Exagerates the speedo reading and will max out quicker, i suspect its a job to get a stock auto 3.2 over 135 on any stretch shorter than the entire length of the m4...certainly would take a while anyway, plenty room for lower gearing i guess, if you can bare the extra revs and fuel bills.

Having put a std Omega up against a similar mileage Senator, the Omega was quicker, despite a high rpm hesitation and a HG failure doing no favours to cooling......
