Been given a 1.2 Corsa
« on: 16 May 2010, 15:25:10 »

to go to Hull for my three day course from work.
It's a 58 reg, 1.2 SXi in dark blue.
It's not bad as small cars go, the ride's rather stiff (i guess with it being an SXi).
I'm used to power low down the revs & i'm saying "come on lets be having you" as i wait for the revs to build & then it arrives at around 3500 ;D
Not as quick as the Omega at pulling away & at speed ::)
I'll be in it for around four hours tomorrow, Tues & Weds so i'll be putting through it paces ;)
Liz has had a little drive & she likes it, i'm trying to talk her into having a VX when she trades in the 106 & so it may well be a Corsa.
It has a long dash & a snub nose which gives a big car feel, but when i turn around to reverse i say where's the rest of the car gone ;D

I've driven a '57' plate 3 door one...and it does the job of a little car like it ought to.
Although, the rear visibility is very poor I found in the 3 door model. And it's got those stupid small side windows in front of the A pillar like some MPV's do...and that doesn't do it any favours either.

My cousin has one, he got it brand new, the instrument clusted stopped working after 6 months or so.
And one day he found a small spring underneath the vehicle, Vauxhall apparently couldn't work out what it'd come from...but confirmed it 'looked like one from a Corsa' - but not sure how they could tell that, but not where it actually came from  ::)
He's had a few other issues all sorted out under warranty, all vehicles have issues...but I was suprised by the frequency of his visits to the dealer.

By the time it goes back i'll probably have half of it lying on my drive ;D

if you'll be in it for 4 hours each time, you may be in pain at the end!

One & a half hours to get there this morn & one hour 15 mins to get home ::)
I did around 80 (according to the speedo) going & coming back, but it sits at just above 4000 RPM :o :o :o
It's in deperate need of another gear :(
It's very crap on fuel too, i haven't thrapped it any where. I've used half a tank to go to Hull & back :o :o :o. It's a 10 gallon tank ;D

My V6 did better than that sitting at 80 when i brought her home :y
