This "outfit" has its workshop in Tremorfa Industrial Estate, Cardiff, but its "admin" office in Lydney, some 30 odd miles away(?) The man was very cagey on the phone, and would not discuss details of the engine, but said he had a little "mod" for using the oil pump from another car because it was better than the Audi one..........
When I got a bit more enquiring, (I'm an engineer too, with 30 odd years experience) he put the phone down on me!!!
Maybe you should try another avenue, and buy a warranted exchange engine from a reputable breaker, like CLEAVE MOTOR SALVAGE in gloucester, on Bristol road. Used them many times, never a problem, excellant service always.

This is so true i have put this similar question on other forums at the same time and oof is the only place where good solid info has come up total credit to the oof users

There are members on here that'll take on mechanical work like this, me for example If you can find a good engine then it'll only take 5 or 6 hours to swop it out.
