Congrats.  You deserve a medal for stating the obvious.

However, I'll overtake you, towing a house!

I've had 5 omegas,

2.0 dti  :-X
2.0 petrol
2.5 v6
2.6 v6
And now I have another 2.5

And the v6's have better mpg than both the 4pot petrol and diesel, the dti was hatefull engine and I'm glad the pump went what a nasty little engine

It's a big old heavy car.  4pots are generally poverty spec.

Each to their own, but I wouldn't consider one.

As for towing here`s Tunnie`s sig." Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

we've got a 3.0 Elite Auto, in our fleet of 3. I'll always take the 2.2 manual, V6 with a pattern exhaust is sooo noisey at motorway speeds, constant drone.  :(

My 2.2 has one of the propper old school double walled GM zorsts, its silent at cruise. Also offers less wind noise, and a smoother ride.

Omega was built for cruising, modern diesels keep up with 3.0

Contestable viewpoint. Too many variables to state that as a fact :-?

Our 3.0 Averages 27mpg, 2.2 on petrol averages 34 over a tank

My 2.2 DTi Estate gets about 38...... Still prefer the 3.2 though, just need to LPG it!
