Just been quoted £400 +£40 reprogramming for a replacement ECU for the wifes Astra. Looks to be a very common failure on the Mk4 Astra's, thats from BBA Reman and they can't get one for 5 weeks..

For some stupid reason Vauxhall decided to bolt the ECU on the end of the air intake in the engine bay, no wonder they keep failing they probably melt in that heat.

Its come home twice on the back of a truck, when its all cooled down usually runs ok.

Also got a P1483 fan relay 3 signal low/open circuit error. Which is the high fan speed. Cables ok to the ECU but presumably does a resistance check of the relay coil on start-up, there 2 other relays for lower speeds which work ok.

I've have had to replace the resistance coils for the fan speed control because they corroded due to being  in the fan housing all covered in road crap.
