Look at this air filter...

I was fairly surprised it was a GM one, so looked for a date stamp, is this a date stamp?

Needs a few more miles to build up a more impressive insect collection, IMHO. ;)

given its low mileage, would not be surprised if that and fuel filter are original!

Never trust a garage again after seeing things they get up to on TV and have seen in real life.

Judgeing by that filter I would be tempted to check the cambelt out thats suppoed to have been changed.

If that is the date stamp then am assuming its 2003 march 5.00pm

Possibly then it was the one fitted when the car was built.

So what do Vx actually do on a service then apart from charge upwards of £50 Per hour.   :-X

Hence my comment on budgeting for cambelt on any replacement car, no matter what the service history says, i'd personally replace the whole kit for piece of mind

I used £50 as a bit of an average from 2003 to 2010 over the age of TB's car, Hartwells in sheffild were £44 an hor 10 years ago.

It depends what service you ask them to do.....and sadly most just do a basic one each time.

Which in this case never included an air filer
possibly never included an oil filter.

So whats on a basic service, top up the water bottle and blow up the tyres. :-/
