Oil?
« on: 12 August 2010, 21:25:24 »

Chaps,

Not for my Omega but for my Monza, I've always used Duckhams Hypergrade semi synthetic (because that's its always had that since an engine rebuild) but apparently it's no longer available since when BP took over Duckhams they've wound back the Duckhams brand. What's a good semi or fully synthetic equivalent? Ta.

I would imagine that regular changes is more important than the grade, as long as it meets the required specs.

I would imagine most oils would exceed the spec stated when the Monza was built...

Yes, but the engine was rebuilt a lot more recently than when the car was built  and the semi synthetic oil has been used ever since. It runs so clean, even now the oil is see through after some use not black and 'orrible! Just wondered what would be a good substitue, Magnatec, Mobil 1?

Personally, I'd chuck in GM's semi. Mainly because its cheap. And change it regularly.

Yup, so get a TC card (£20 to join ABS ;)), and get some cheap oil.

Sadly, don't think Monza oil or air filters will be on TC...
