renault clit 1.5 dci 80bhp help

i know i know its not a vx but my brother need help!engine done 115000 miles and recently had 2 new injecters and starter motor the car ran fine for a while but now has developed a fault where he is loosing power,black smoke comng from exhaust and is also hard to start.the fault when hot clears itself and drives a bit better but not right,its also very hesitant when acc is pressed.anyone with any ideas or help greatly appreaciated!!! :y :y :'(

Check the engine harness for damage, does the glow plug light work as it should????

egr valve is a common problem on renault engines although they normally respond well to a good clean,symptoms typically low power and lots of black smoke

I'm goin tomorow so will check egr.glow plug light tends to stay on,so glow plugs need replacing??

I wouldnt be to sure about changing them,check wiring,plugs, relay and hope that sorts its :y :y

aha you didnt mention that on the first post!!! had this on a citroen diesel it was the glow plug relay stuck on easy way to test if its the fault is pull it out when the car is warm!! if it clears the fault replace it!
