no i needed to cut out the old tunnel and fabricate a new one to fit the gearbox, the plans are to keep the car looking standard, and a when its running i dont there will be much that could keep up with it esepially not "a good vts"

Are you using a cut down version of the Omega rear subframe plus diff or an alternative smaller donor?

The OP said this a pageish back:

thanks for the info, in response to all youre questions im using a 2.5 v6 on 3.0 cams, uprated fuel pump and custom exhaust manifolds,im planning on running a 50 bhp progressive nos kit, i have conected it to a rs2000 rear axle, that will have an lsd soon, i have tried loading pics but it wont work.

And a VTS is around 118bhp over a narrow power band.

V6 2.5 with 3.0 cams etc will be 200bhp over a wider power band

Also, the Saxo only has just over 100lbs/ft Torque.

My Brother in Law has a VTS, serviced well etc, a nice little machine, but unless the road involves a huge amount of bends, he stands no chance against my standard 3.0.  :y

You are funny  ;D

Experience of both 106GTi's and Saxo VTS' neither of which are quick 'super mini's', neither of which will touch a 3.0 Omega in a straight line, let alone a 3.0 Saxo.

Spud, when you wake up, let us know.  ;D

Off the mark, 160BHP in a car which weighs a ton, yeah, he probably would win.  When he hits 130 (if the little thing doesn't fall apart by the time it gets there) I'll pass it whilst changing into 4th, in absolute comfort.  ;D

Here goes, the 3.0 is not THAT heavy.

On acceleration the Omega Saxo would win off the line simply due to weight transfer.

On twisty roads I expect the weight is more central, as the box will be between the seats,

I have found that short light RWD cars are a lot quicker on very twisty roads.

All this pondering...."mines faster than your....etc" comes down to one thing, really. I don't doubt something thats light with a revvy engine will beat something probably twice its weight with a large engine twice its capacity, BUT....
what would you rather do hard acceleration and cruise at speed in?  a buzzy screaming little thing revving its nuts off, or total comfort, unhurried speed, and every toy thats perhaps 1 second slower to 60, but 30 miles an hour faster, much smoother, and maybe cheaper to insure??

Saxo VTS versus good sorted MV6 saloon???

My moneys on the miggy!
