We had a fairly respectable storm here last night with winds gusting well over 60mph. At just past 5am with the wind at it's height, there was a loud rattle followed by a bang & what sounded like tiles exploding on the drive below our bedroom window! As this is where my Omega is parked, I did a disabled version of shooting out of bed & promptly stubbed my toe nails on the dressing table

, which woke the dogs, who thought I was an intruder, & barked the bloody house down :-?
Went outside in the pouring rain/howling wind with a torch & did a quick (very) scan for debris (none found), back to bed. Up at 6.30 for the school run, checked the car, found smashed tile pointing cement all over the screen! After clearing the mess, the screen is badly scratched in three impact areas but I can hardly feel them with my fingers

. I have some powdered glass rubbing compound I bought off egay last year to try polishing out the wiper arcs etched into the screen but never got around to using. Looks like i'm going to get to try it out now though!

I count myself fortunate the screen wasn't broken. I'll let you know how I get on with polishing the screen scratches just as soon as I can feel my hands again
