V6 replaced by mondeo
« on: 08 October 2010, 21:06:55 »

parted company with the Omega, cold start issues depressing me and not the time or ability to sort them out myself.Seen a couple of newer Omegas but seemed to have problems,i,e, 40k facelift with engine lights on.

Diesel Mondeo now my daily transport,
good points- newer motor, mad acceleration in third and fourth gear, still a big car, seems a bit fatter than omega somehow.

Bad points- getting used to a manual box again after five years of auto, broke down immediately ( repair under aftersales warranty-thankfully), only returning 30-32 mpg on my daily crawls around town. so might not justify extra expense over petrol cars.

yeah, cant be flashing at all the mondeo drivers, will wear out the lights,

maybe you were part of the accidental three car omega convoy a few weeks ago in bury, driving past the town hall.  got to be long odds on that happening.

The last 2 models of Mundano are decent cars, and in no way comparable to the earlier shite.

As Sassanach aluded to, the TDCi do suffer from leaky injectors, which if not caught in time can lead to engine destruction.

Ford seats are close to that of the Omega in terms of comfort, i do like the Mondeo's problem with current version is they have an ugly bottom  :(
