pre-facelift done facelift-pre ever done?
« on: 04 November 2010, 22:35:15 »

Plenty people have done the conversion to make their pre/mini facelift look like a facelift model, with the use of the bumpers, lights, bonnet, mirrors etc etc

but has anyone ever got a late facelift and changed it to look like a minifacelift? (externally)

the pre/mini has its die hard fans, myself being one of them, I just cant warm to the facelift unless its a super clean one with irmy bits

 :)

No havn't made any changes, but my p/f/l TD door cards are so much more cosy and comfy  compared to the cold bare plasticky look of the f/l v6.

What Kneepad says, I think I could eventually warm to the exterior of a facelift, apart from the light appearance  of the tail lights, but the interior would really take some getting your head around.  ::) ::) :y

Agreed.

There is a guy who put fl bumpers/side trip on his pre-fl, should still be on the 1st page of gallery....I know this is not at all what you mean, but what was interesting is he kept the earlier type bonnet/grille, so it did look a bit sexier than the big open-gob of the 00-on cars.

I do appreciate what you mean, though. I think the omega design was just excellently executed from the off. The facelift looked more modern, which I suppose is the whole point of a facelift, but the purity of the design was lost....especially the fattest, most protruding black plastic bumpers going! Very practical, and much less likely to show the parking grazes that the body-coloured affairs do so well!  :y

There's an ex-plod estate (well, I say ex-plod - it's a 51-plate, and white, so safe to assume ex-plod) knocking about round here which has a pre-fl front-end, but from the front wings back is all facelift.

Seen it quite a few times, but never had to opportunity to chat to the driver to get the low-down.  But the way it's been done, it looks like it's prob had a minor nudge at the front, and the only panels they've been able to get from the breakers in the same colour where from a pre-fl  :-/

ive got a facelift 2001 model i like the interior better and the rear end but not really keen on the front i would much prefer the previous shape front end i cant get my head around the big numb grille on the facelift it doesnt look like it belongs there , it personally looks like they couldnt be bothered when it came to the bonnet/grille design of the facelift
