Seasons greetings!

It's cold outside, which in my book usually means that there's something needs doing to a car. I've now abandoned my Corsa, or rather pushed it further up the drive, and taken on a diesel polo estate. I think it's going to need a new clutch in the near'ish' future - gears are stiff (not the clutch). Anyone ever attempted clutch change on a polo? Was wondering what sort of tools I'd need to get hold of apart from my fairly standard set of spanners/sockets.
It's just over 100,000, and on a 1.9D (non-turbo) seemed reasonable. Only one other owner from new on the logbook. It's got the usual VW lock issue which I've just ordered a repair kit for but seems otherwise in good nick. Will be becoming my commute-mobile for the year so would like to sort out the stiff gear change. I think it's a bit easier when it's cold than hot which is why I'm thinking clutch and not the pedal box issue which I know some of these are troubled with.
I'd ask on a VW forum, but after looking around them I still think there's loads of mechanical knowledge and friendlier advice on here.
