Mates 1.2 punto had no heat coming into the cabin. I put a new stat in for him, didnt help. Today flushed the matrix and bled the cooling system. slightly better but nowhere near right.
I noticed that when it sits ticking over the temp. gauge is around normal, but when you give it some revs you can see the gauge drop very quickly indeed.
Any ideas anyone ? :-/

did you do a back flush,,, also there is a valve on the rear of the rad inside drivers side up to the left, put hand on it if wet then it gone.

flushed matrix from both directions. Dont think this one has that valve (its an 03) but there is a valve with a bleed screw near the matrix which both heater pipes run through.
None of the coolant pipes are much more than luke warm.
The temp gauge dropping quickly when its revved doesnt seem right to me. :-/

its a plastic valve, in side were lets water to flow in rad. if tht temp gets warm then gose cold its blocked or not working proper, also the thermostate can go on them at the flick of your fingers I was given an 03 plate one for 6 months wile was away,,, if the valve is blocked it just gose round a pipe in side and not through the rad, when working right they get bloody hot inside.
also think it was 3.3l or 3.8l of water in systerm from emty.
only other thing can say is leave the top of the bottle and get up to temp dont rev see what happens, if water go's down then back up its not getting round the systerm.
