Tigra 1.4 engine

I dont suppose its a "safe" engine ? One for sale nearby which the cambelt has snapped. Just wondered if it might be an easy fix.

Had a look in "that other place", apparently bent valves are a certainty. :(

I suppose I should change the belt & tensioner on my 'new' TD Astra. I've had it a couple of months and know nothing of the history of the belt.  :-? Its predecessor was on the road  for 3 years & 40 000miles on the belt I bought it with ...... & I knew nothing of its history either.  :-X

Good little engines, not many faults either.

But yes, cambelt failure on a 16V = bent valves.

Still, if its cheap, its not that hard a job to do.

Thanks. :y.............its a 1998, so probably not worth paying a couple of hundred quid for it, and then maybe spending another couple of hundred on it. ;)
