you will give me how much as part exchange?
« on: 08 January 2011, 02:01:23 »

due to the silly price of fuel ive no choice to part with my omega and get a family diesel car as iam spending around £350 a mth on fuel. two days ago i looked at a 2001 "51" laguna 1.9 dci estate nice car from a garage. i was offered £250 part exchange for my 2001 omega 2.2 petrol with fsh ! yeah its not a mint low mileage car but come on its got to be worth more than that hasnt it? i was hoping to draw around the £700 as a private sale so surely it must be worth £500 as a trade in so laguna on the back burner and it looks like its going on ebay ironicly i looked at keeping the omega as its ideal for my family (way too many kids) and buying a cheap banger just for comuting and 80% of bangers without tax or mot were around or exceeding £200
wasnt impressed to say the least ! >:(

The real irony is that is actually LESS than the scrap value.

Also, beware Lagunas of this age - the smart card thingy is very fragile and expensive if it goes wrong.

I can't afford to swap, car is worth little and the extra fuel is less than the HP for something newer.

BTW convert the 2.2 to LPG

I agree re converting to LPG. Admittedly it has gone up at present, but its still close to half price petrol. So my 30mpg is effectively nearer to 60mpg. If you want a look at my installation, I'm just over the M606 from you.
