GM Exhaust 3 years and leaking

It appears I have a leak at one of the centre boxes.

I only replaced the system 3 years ago.

aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think thats lasted well then.only a stainless system will last for ever

Don't agree re comparing to stainless. The original GM exhaust would easily last 6 years ime. In fact the one on my 03 is still stock and in reasonable nic.

The real shame is GM discontinued the original for the current shite replacement for the same price.

I think mine is a mix of the above as I bought it a little while before the complaints started.

Still original one on mine and car is late 1999.
And car has done 125 000 miles.
On Audi original exhaust lasted for 15 years and 160 000 miles when we sold the car. It was still good when the car was sold so who knows how long it still lasted or even lasts till now

I made on out of old toilet paper tubes and its still going on and on and on and on  ;D

Think the biggest problem with exhausts is actually that "nice english weather"

It's partly that, the colder weather makes the hot gasses condensate inside the exhaust which leaves a LOT of water inside. The other problem is the salt they spread on our roads in the cold weather, it seems to get into all the weak spot and rots them.

Had to replace mine last jan. from the cats back. Original system 8 years old and about 135K . present sytem utter crap, been back for a another one after 3 months, then back again several times for "adjustments"
Stainless next time,  :)

Propper old skool double walled GM ones last about 6/7 years and 100k, later ones are no better than kwik fit.

I was lucky, i got one of the very last decent ones before they went crap
