Potholes again!!!
« on: 31 January 2011, 22:20:47 »

Took the Beemer out for a blast today, thought I know take it down some country roads for a nice run, what do I come across and hit directly all three of these basta*d things. After the last episode of this and them patching the potholes up before I could get pictures, I decided anchor up at the side of the road at get my son to get some good pictures. So these are the poxy things in question:

My youngest boy put his foot in this pothole to show how deep it was (up too his ankle):

I know exactly where it is too, so this one will be going in for a claim, god it went with a loud bang too like last time  >:( >:( >:(

Its the same here, so many potholes its often impossible to avoid them, just have to aim for whichever one looks smallest.
Were like a third world country. Its rather disgraceful. >:(

You have to look out for pot holes on the other side of the road round here now, because the oncoming traffic will invariably swerve in your direction to try and avoid them. ::)

At the end of the day, though, you, the driver, have the choice to either keep damaging wheels or slow down to a speed appropriate to the condition of the roads.  :-X

I know in an ideal world we would have some cash to spend repairing roads but that has sadly all been squandered on paying people to do non-jobs.

Appropriate speed these days would enable the bloke with the red flag to walk in front of the car. :D ;D

It's a 60 MPH road, and I was doing 50 MPH in 6th gear, not driving fast at all.

I didn't mean to sound condescending and, upon reading my post again, I fear I did. :-[

My point was that I like a "spirited drive" as much as the next man, but there comes a time when you just have to make the decision that the condition of the roads aren't up to it without trashing your car. :(

Can't drive this fast anymore, it must go in to be looked at, wanders all over the shop since I hit the first pothole. Constantly making adjustments to keep it in a straight line. Hopefully I'll get something from this though, wheel wobble, knocking suspension, steering feels loose. Just feels horrible to drive now which it never did  :'(

potholes are bad enough round here that pedestrians dive into them to avoid being run over
