its getting hard to justify owning the miggy!(family keep reminding me) and with a few repairs needed(wishbones, disks) an tax due next month , plus i only do 50 miles a week now(fun happy v6 miles).  my mind is swinging every day. everyone is saying i should get rid so ive come to the home of the miggy for support! :-/

You could lok at it as 50 miles a week is going to cost hardly anything really... it is also a big safe car for your family to be in.. Now if you were doing 300 a week I could understand you wanting to change.
End of the day you do whats best for you and yours. Omegas are a lovely car else we would not have bought one, but they have faults like every other.
I have always liked big cars and will continue to buy them. Range Rovers, Jags and Omegas all like fuel but its the comfort I like..... you cant have both I'm afraid :)

tis your decision mate. you have obviously made ya mind up which is fair enough. :)

one last thing in addition to the comfort of the car is:

having immediate access to the omega gods on here, is worth its weight in gold. i cant see there being better help for any other car, especially if you buy something like a corsa.

good luck and would love to hear how you get on with your replacement  :) :) :)

So how are you going to get around?

Will another car cost less than fixing this one?

I will add that swapping discs and pads is very easy. Once you have done it once, you'll never go back to a mechanic!

to be honest its mainly pressure from the family and if selling the miggy gets me some peace then its worth it, i bought the miggy on a whim and its not been a badun but it aint been a good one either!(the only car ive crashed in) and the seven points gained while i got used to it! ;)

Mine is still in the Miggy hospital with a cracked cylinder head awaiting a transplant. Have been told not to expect much change from £500 after the labour involved, but weighing up the pros and cons decided to stick with her.

Now if you were doing 300 a week I could understand you wanting to change.

Which is the ultimate reason I got rid of my 2.5 V6 Auto last week unfortunately :-(

If I was only doing 50 miles a week though mate tbh i'd keep it. Things like brakes, tyres etc are all "serviceable" items and things that need replacing on any car at some point so I wouldn't begrudge paying out to sort that. Its when more serious and expensive issues arise that's the problem...

My Elite only comes out to play at weekends.  I do 400 miles a week for work and I wouldn't use the miggy for 2 reasons:

1. The fuel bill would be scary!!
2. I wouldn't want to spoil her by putting all those miles on her!

So the solution....

I bought a 1.7 TD cavalier for next to nowt! Reliable as anything and 50+ mpg all day long!!  ;D :y
